Music & Orchestra

Students attend Music and Orchestra class weekly at HRA as they develop skills to create a foundation for further music development and appreciation. We believe music is an integral part of God’s good creation and seek to establish a love and appreciation for excellent and beautiful music through the study of history’s greatest musicians as well as developing individual student skills.

Visual Arts

The Kindergarten through High School visual arts classes strive to guide each student to bring glory to God through the visual arts. Through the arts, students will learn to see God’s wonderful creation and inspire them to use the gifts God gave them to create art. Students will experiment and explore with different materials, methods, and techniques building on their growing knowledge of art and teaching them to recognize and understand the fundamental elements and principles of art. They will view and learn different styles of various great artists. Students will practice observation drawing as well as be encouraged in personal creativity and individual expression throughout the year.

Theatre

The study of theatre brings us to a closer inspection of everyday life, because a study of the theatre is a study of human personality and behavior. Theatre teaches about relationships, hopes and dreams, disappointments, wants and needs, fears and failures, conflict and crisis – and how people respond to all these things. To analyze a character in a play is to become better acquainted with oneself and those with whom one interacts.
